Slippers

Some friends of mine just adopted a little girl from Korea and they asked if I would like to donate some slippers to an auction for Holt International which is the adoption agency that they went through. I said I would love to and here they are!

Jasmine was very excited to finally get her slippers on the night I finished them. She asked for them to have straps and a button and I told her that that style is called Mary Jane. I love to make these just the way people want them even though they take a bit longer to figure out.

She loves them! She loved being a part of designing them, picking all the colors and the style makes them even cooler. When you consider that they take from 6 to 10 hours spread over a couple of days or weeks, I want them to be really special!

The Mary Jane, by request of Jasmine.
We had fun with our photo shoot!

Without boring everybody, I wanted to show you a picture of the process because it's so cool to me. The first row of crochet on these is always no fun because it's hard to get a crochet hook through the leather, but after that's done the real fun starts!

Can you imagine how soft this sheep's wool is? It's wonderful! I always have to stop at this point and imagine a little persons foot squishing around in the cushy pillow of softness. : )

We all know what's inside waiting for some lucky little foot! I like to add a cuff and tie around the ankle of the toddler sizes so they can be secured on for little ones who like to take their shoes off or who are still crawling and somehow lose their shoes during speedy getaways.

If you are interested in ordering slippers I don't have a "buy it now" button because I custom make every pair of slippers just for you. Here's what would happen: You would e-mail me at TrulyTeeny@gmail.com to begin the process of making your personalized slippers. Don't worry, you get to do the fun, easy part!
I use a tracing of the persons foot to make a unique pattern just for them. The super fun part is when I send you a picture like this so you can see what color of yarn I have available and pick what you like! If you have a request I can try to find it.

Then you need to pick the suede color for the sole of the slippers. I will send an updated picture of the color options.
I use shearling (real sheepskin with the wool intact) for the insole. This is not always customizable as this is a more limited resource and one that I don't keep a lot of different colors of on hand because it is expensive.

If you have a preference for the insole color, especially for smaller slippers you can let me know and I will try to accommodate you.

For now, I can fulfill limited requests for these slippers. I am charging:
$35 for newborn
$45 for children's sizes 6 thru 11
$55 for youth sizes 12 thru 4
Please contact me for larger sizes as they are "Special Order" and I need to make sure that I have available materials. The shipping is $5 per pair, assuming you live in the continental US and order one of the sizes listed above. If you're interested please contact me by e-mail at TrulyTeeny@gmail.com.
Watch out, you will have a very happy kid on your hands! They may not take off the slippers for awhile!
